Casa Dolores, Center for the Study of the Popular Arts of Mexico, is devoted to the collection, preservation, study, and exhibition of an extensive variety of objects of the popular arts of Mexico.
The Center currently houses Linda Cathcart’s collection of over 6,000 objects in a variety of mediums; clay, ceramic, wood, natural fibers, leather, paper, glass and tin. It is the largest collection of hand crafted art from Mexico on the Central Coast.
The center's mission is to expand the passion of Mexican Arts and Crafts with the community and visitors by stimulating the appreciation of the Mexican culture through educational programs, demonstrations, and free access to exhibits and the center's library. Casa Dolores is designated a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Pascual Botillier House was built in 1843. It is the only two story adobe house remaining in Santa Barbara. It was continuously occupied by the descendants of the builder until April 1969. The house was restored by Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Perkins, the new owners in 1971. The house was designated a Santa Barbara historical landmark on August 14, 1971.

Casa Dolores is available for rental and is an ideal setting for small meetings and reunions. Please check back soon for images of our facility or stop by the center during our normal business hours to view it in person.
